Employment-Based Visas
If you decided to go in the United States and want to get an immigrant visa based on employment, then you need to apply to a U.S. business. It is very important because you have to get their permission and moreover, they must sponsor you.
The first what the U.S. business will do is getting a labor certification, stating that there is an unavailability of U.S. workers for the employment position. In this case a person that wants to get a visa must file an INS Form I-140 along with the labor certification, and the INS has to approve the petition. It is important to add documents that confirm your education and experience. Then the sponsoring U.S. company has to submit proof that it can pay the alien a salary.
Immigration Misunderstandings
However, there are a lot of misunderstandings about immigration law. It is not easy to become a permanent occupant. Many think that if you want to live and work in the United States then you have to know English, be able to speak and write in this language. But this is the biggest misunderstanding. The foreigner can become a permanent resident without the ability to speak or write in English. Nevertheless pass a citizenship test if an immigrant is trying to be naturalized is waiting for him. And this will be difficult.
